About

Lorenzo Zepeda

Born in Porterville, CA

Lives & works in Fresno, CA

Lorenzo Zepeda is a cartoonist from the Central Valley in California. He makes silly doodles, horrifying monstrosities, and captivating beauties alike come to life.

Zepeda uses both traditional mediums and digital work and plays with 2D images and 3D sculptures alike. However, he is primarily a cartoonist focusing on comics and animation.

Zepeda’s work is zany and full of sneering, grimacing characters. He often experiments with color, motion, and contrast to make his work both attractive and easy to follow.

His “introductions” to art were video games on the Nintendo 64 such as Super Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie and Rayman 2, animated programs such as Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Samurai Jack, and Dragon Ball Z and Japanese comic (manga) magazine “Monthly Shonen Jump.”

He is currently studying animation and trying to reinvigorate his love for art since video games, buying comics and looking at stupid things on the internet vie for his attention. So far, the animations he is making is sparking something within him. He is also currently learning to draw horses because he believes learning to draw horses will let him draw anything.

Though temperamental at times, he has a good sense of humor and is always looking for fun and excitement but is always willing to stop and smell the roses as well.

Zepeda is currently attending California State University, Fresno
